The Beginning of a New Adventure – Gorgeous Wisconsin Wedding celebrated at Trinity Peak Barn – Oconomowoc

The moment I met Katie and Kevin, I loved them! They are the type to follow where the adventure is and aren’t afraid of taking risks. Kevin, David, and I bonded over our love for snowboarding at their engagement session and we learned that Kevin was moving to Colorado (snowboard heaven) for a job opportunity. Katie planned to stay back and teach in the Madison area. It’s rough to be away from your partner but Katie and Kevin made it work with long trips back and forth. I followed them on social media and watched them go hiking and explore the state. After awhile I think they both just fell in love with Colorado and made it their official home (I don’t blame them!). Katie and Kevin make friends everywhere they go (Wisconsin to Ohio, now Colorado) and their wedding reflected that. It was fun to see everyone come together.

Katie met Kevin her freshman year in college and found out they shared a birthday!!! They remained friends but after awhile all they wanted to do was spend time together. On October 25th, their birthdays, Kevin asked Katie to be his girlfriend.

About two years ago they went to Lake Superior for a getaway on the 4th of July. Kevin had planned for this to be the time he would ask Katie to marry him. It’s a gorgeous place and they have a lot of fun adventures planned, it would be a perfect time to propose. Except on their hike… getting eaten alive by mosquitoes proved to be less than romantic. Kevin decided to wait until the next day- July 5th…. Kayaking would for sure work out and be better than getting eaten alive by bugs – worth the wait. They prepared for bugs, packed all the supplies…  then the car doesn’t start. So they spent their day at the Ford Dealership.

Defeated, I’m sure… they walked back to their cabin. On the walk Kevin started talking about all the trips they’ve gone on that didn’t go as planned, all those times that turned out less than ideal… Kevin then pulled out a ring and explained to Katie how he wanted to continue going on these adventures with her for the rest of his life, even if they don’t always go as planned.

Life is a messy but beautiful adventure… it doesn’t always go as we plan but no matter what, it’s all better when shared with your best friend.

Thank you so much for having us at your wedding, we loved getting to know you over the past year and had a blast at your wedding.
