I’ve been looking forward to photographing Dillon and Kyleen’s wedding since they reached out to me in 2018. It feels like forever ago, since that’s when I first started photographing weddings! They were among many couples whose wedding plans kept changing due to the pandemic. Although things were uncertain, they knew one thing – they wanted to be married. So in July of 2019 they went to the courthouse and became Husband and Wife!
Fast forward to Fall of 2021 and they were finally able to celebrate with the presence of friends and family. It was a beautiful day for a beautiful couple. This was a very special wedding for me since Kyleen is my best friend from middle school! She’s funny, has a heart of gold makes the best facial expressions, and has the perfect amount of sass. Not many people “got me” but her and her mom couldn’t get rid of me. So you can imagine the honor of meeting her other half, Dillon who loves her so much.
When I was taking Dillon’s portraits I started rapping to get a genuine smile. It’s not something I always do, sometimes I even bite my tongue at random things that pop into my head. However I knew he’d be comfortable with goofy energy since he’s marrying Kyleen. He started cracking up and said with a smile “That’s something Kyleen would do.”. First of all, mission accomplished. Secondly I’m happy Kyleen has not changed a bit and her partner in crime will always be there to encourage and join in on the shenanigans.
Watching them share cute glances and dance the night away with friends and family was a beautiful sight. I am so happy they got the celebration they deserve!
Huge congratulations to Kyleen and Dillon!
